Acting Board Chair
Katrina Ede brings extensive senior leadership experience spanning across the Healthcare, Construction, Technology and Contracting industries. She is currently General Manager – People & Culture at Citycare Property, leading all areas of People and Culture across Citycare’s national operations.
Katrina is the current Acting Board Chair of OGS and has lead Olympia’s Financial Sustainability Subcommittee over the past 18 months. She has been a board member since 2023. A long-standing member of Olympia, she also has a personal connection through her daughter’s previous participation in rhythmic gymnastics. Her blend of executive expertise, governance experience, and community passion ensures she is well placed to help shape Olympia’s future.

Renata Ogayar brings two decades of cross-sector experience in project management, education, media, and governance across Australia and New Zealand. She has led large teams, delivered complex global projects—including FIFA World Cup live broadcasts at SBS and feature film and TV productions for Sony Pictures and NBCUniversal—and contributed to key partnerships across the APAC health and fitness industry. Her experience spans operational and strategic management, driving business performance and growth
Passionate about wellbeing and movement, Renata trained in elite full-time dance in Australia and Germany and has taught internationally. A published dance journalist, she has reviewed global productions and interviewed industry leaders. She is excited to join Olympia’s Board, combining her passion for business, governance, and movement with her commitment to community and excellence.

Jade Reeves brings over 15 years of leadership and governance experience across the commercial and community sectors. He is currently General Manager – Operations at MG Fresh Produce Group, where he leads nationwide teams and drives strategic growth. He has also served in governance roles, including as Chair of the NZ Fresh Produce Importers Association, strengthening his skills in strategic planning and risk management.
As a parent of three young competitive gymnasts, Jade has seen first-hand the positive impact Olympia has on developing confident and resilient young people. He is excited to give back to a community that has given so much to his family and looks forward to contributing to Olympia’s continued success.

Tara Strand brings extensive leadership and governance experience from her career in science, research, and strategic management. As General Manager, Forests and Landscapes at Scion Crown Research Institute, she oversees a significant portion of the organisation’s business, driving strategic thinking, innovation, and impactful outcomes. She has guided biosecurity research as a long-serving member of the Better Border Biosecurity Collaboration Council and has led NZ wildfire research and contributed to NASA projects on wildfire detection.
With a personal history in competitive swimming, swim coaching, and national-level Ultimate Frisbee, Tara is passionate about sport and its impact on young people. As a parent of a gymnast, she is committed to helping Olympia thrive. She is excited to bring her strategic and governance experience to the Board, supporting Olympia’s sustainable future.

Mike Hadley brings a broad and diverse professional background spanning marketing, finance, sales, and quality assurance. Most recently, as General Manager of the Christchurch Golf Club, he led strategic initiatives that delivered financial stability while enhancing engagement and member experience.
Mike has a strong interest in sporting and club organisations that foster participation, growth, and community connection. He excels at conceiving and communicating new ideas, and is adept at leading in environments of complexity and change. He is excited to contribute his expertise to Olympia, strengthening its role as a catalyst for growth, development, and community connection.

Katie Morriss has been an active member of the Olympia community for over ten years through her daughters’ involvement in rhythmic gymnastics. She has served on the Financial Sustainability Subcommittee, contributing to the Club’s financial stewardship and turnaround. Professionally, Katie is a Deputy Principal with over 23 years of experience in education and has served on her school board as the staff representative.
She brings a people-centred and solution-focused approach to the Board and is passionate about ensuring Olympia continues to thrive as a home for athletes, staff, and whānau for years to come.

Steve Sheere brings over 20 years of general management experience and a strong background in project and program delivery. He has contributed to Olympia through the Financial Stability Subcommittee and has a personal connection as the parent of a gymnast.
Steve is committed to providing a calm, impartial, and governance-focused approach to the Board, helping Olympia move from surviving to thriving, and supporting its dedicated staff, members, and the wider community.
